Youth After School & Toddler Programs
2022 / 2023 After-School Program
Salt Pump Kids! is excited to announce the launch dates for our 2nd Quarter of After-School.
Priority Registration (those who are currently enrolled): Oct. 7th through 11th
Public Registration: Oct. 12th
We are excited to start offering different levels in our Scramblers and Mountaineer programs! To accommodate the growing difference in ability levels, we will be offering two levels to help meet your climber where they are. Please see the conditions that would qualify a climber for Level 2. If a climber is placed in a level that is not a good fit, we will work with parents to find a better class.
Level 1:
- New to climbing & Salt Pump Kids! Programming
- Looking to build confidence & learn the ropes
Level 2:
- Participated in Salt Pump programming (After-School or Summer Camp)
- Comfortable climbing both up & downstairs at Salt Pump
- General knowledge of climbing
- Certified to belay while in programming (Mountaineer Groups)
If you have questions regarding the program descriptions, please do not hesitate to reach out to brittney@saltpumpclimbing.com. We’re happy to talk with you, see your climber on the wall and ensure your climber is placed in the appropriate group for their current ability.

Salt Pump Kids! Policies
Cancellation Policy
Full payment is due at time of booking. The fee is 100 percent nonrefundable. All Salt Pump Youth programming cancellations will be made at the discretion of Salt Pump Climbing; this includes cancellations for any reason including a COVID-related closure. Cancellations of Youth Programming are normally done in line with the health and safety guidelines of the local school districts. No refunds, credits or make-up days will be offered. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact us at info@saltpumpclimbing.com.
Behavior Policy
As you can imagine, this is a challenging time to manage behavior that may put the rest of the group at risk. We tend to work with a 3-step protocol that includes working with the climber to better understand why we are asking them to follow certain procedures and how it is for their benefit and the benefit of the group. Our next step is to provide a safe space for them to be able to take a moment of reprieve and then chat with one of our program leaders until they are ready to rejoin the group. We hope that this will be enough for any climber. In the unlikely event that this isn’t enough for them, we will ask parents to come and pick-up the climber and we can try again next week. If this happens on another day, we will follow the same process, as it is hopefully familiar to the climber. If the climber goes home again on this second occasion, we will likely ask the climber to not return to programming and booking fees will be forfeited. Please review our SP Kids Code of Conduct with your child so everyone understands our expectations prior to the start of programming. We will review the Code of Conduct on the first day of programming. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact us at info@saltpumpclimbing.com.
Inclement Weather Policy
All Salt Pump Youth programming cancellations will be made at the discretion of Salt Pump Climbing. We will take into account many factors, including weather forecasts, local conditions and school district guidance. Please do not assume that programming is automatically cancelled if local in-school instruction has been cancelled. Parents and participants can expect an email no later than four (4) hours before the scheduled programming (ie. by noon for the regularly scheduled 4pm programming). We will send out a day-of email, as well as post to social media, if programming is to be cancelled. In the case of cancellation due to inclement weather, a free-day pass (with rentals) will be given to each participant. No refunds or make-up days will be offered. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact us at info@saltpumpclimbing.com.
