Climbing is an adventure.
We know what to do with kids! Climbing comes naturally to them, let them explore at Salt Pump. Our programs give kids a place to solve problems, work together, explore calculated risks and learn that we all fall on our way to the top.

After a day at school, kids have a lot of energy, and we've got the perfect place for them to have fun and challenge themselves! In small groups with our enthusiastic instructors, kids will learn essential climbing terminology and become more efficient by mastering basic movement patterns. They'll get to challenge themselves at a pace that works for them, as all skills taught are developmentally appropriate and reinforced through circular learning.
So, what makes it so great? We've designed a comprehensive program to make climbing accessible, engaging, and beneficial for your child:
- Weekly Coached Practice: One dedicated climbing practice session each week with our excellent Salt Pump staff.
- Full Access & Freedom: Your child receives full membership benefits at no extra cost to you at both of our state-of-the-art climbing gyms, allowing them to climb outside of their scheduled practice!
- All-Inclusive Gear: Rental climbing gear is always included whenever your child climbs with us, during and outside of scheduled practices, making it hassle-free.
- Easy Payment Plan: Enjoy a convenient month-to-month payment plan that can be canceled at any time with no additional fees.
- Free Parent Guest Pass: Want to share the fun? Once a month, your child's weekly practice includes a complimentary guest pass for a parent (or sibling*). They'll get to climb for free, with gear provided, and see what climbing is all about! *This does not include participation in the program
- Builds More Than Muscle: We actively foster teamwork and camaraderie among our young climbers.
- Engaging & Skill-Building: Our program incorporates fun activities and games specifically designed to enhance climbing techniques and agility.
Cost:
- $215 monthly for one weekly practice

Where we learn a lot about success by trying, falling and trying again.
Our teams provide an opportunity for kids to grow as climbers and humans. Whether or not your climber wants to be in competitions, doesn’t mean they can’t train like a competition climber. Weekly practices allow for physical and mental skill development through goal setting, structured training and camaraderie. There are also multiple outdoor climbing adventures offered to those in the teams program.
Competition climbing in the US is organized by USA Climbing. There are two seasons in competitive climbing, the bouldering season in the fall and the rope season in the spring. Each season has “Qualifying Events” that will lead up to the Championship Season. Those who qualify will be invited to Regional, Divisional and/or National Championships. Salt Pump sends coaches to at least three Qualifying Events and to Championship level events.
Tryouts are held quarterly.
