Get Outside!

In addition to indoor camps, Salt Pump Kids offers a variety of outdoor programs including full weeks of overnight camp at world-famous destinations right here in New England, and day camps that combine indoor days and outdoor days at local crags. For adventurous, mature kids age 10 – 17. Click here for more info.

How we group campers

Although we ask that children are registered by school grade, our camps will always start as one community to allow for an organic grouping process. We will split into groups daily depending on the activity, age, matury, and preference of the campers. We know that siblings sometimes want to spend more time together, especially when first arriving at camp, and we leave space for campers and their parents to make that decision.

Parent Testimonials:

“My little climber has been so excited to share her experience with everyone. She loved climbing blindfolded and being able to learn belaying. This camp is packed full of fun, learning and adventure! A definite must on the camp list.”

“My daughter was a little nervous to start a new camp, especially because she didn’t know anyone else taking the week long climbing camp. The atmosphere was relaxed, the activities varies, and she came home happy every day. Her counselor, Kai, was soft spoken and thoughtful, giving my daughter new skills and confidence in something she can continue to pursue. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommended the camp or the facility. Thank You!”

What happens during a day at Salt Pump Kids Camps?

At Salt Pump Summer Camps, our talented instructors have the experience to challenge and engage first-time and repeat campers alike. We personalize our programs to meet each climber at the level they are at while instilling the confidence needed to explore new terrain.

Throughout the course of a five day session, campers practice both bouldering and roped climbing; they also get a chance to explore advanced climbing skills like rappelling, crack climbing, and lead climbing. Our camps promote balanced activity – knowing that young bodies need a chance to rest and recover – so, we offer activities such as yoga, crafts, games, outdoor living skills, and other activities to slow the momentum of busy camp days.
