Maine Adaptive Pilot Climbing Program at Salt Pump

Thanks to those of you who donated during our Grand Opening to get the pilot adaptive climbing program going here at Salt Pump!

Kelsey from Maine Adaptive Sports and Recreation recently shared these photos and a brief update after the first program. The second session is happening today.

From Kelsey:

Salt Pump Climbing Company is collaborating with Maine Adaptive Sports and Recreation for an Adaptive Climbing Pilot Program. Sean O’Neill, who has been an innovator in adaptive climbing, is the lead instructor. The first program in November was a huge success. Four adaptive athletes focused on breathing methods, stretching and basic bouldering techniques. Bryant Pond 4H Camp climbing instructors volunteered and shared their expertise.

Donations to purchase adaptive climbing equipment would be greatly appreciated and will help us provide more lessons. Donations can be made here, please make a note of “adaptive climbing”. We would love to have you join our team, if you are interested in volunteering please contact Kelsey Moody.

We will be meeting at Salt Pump every third Thursday of the month until May from 11am-2pm.
