USA Climbing Sport Local Competition

We regret to inform you that due to the coronavirus, our 2020 USA Climbing sport competition has been cancelled.

If you have already registered, Salt Pump will issue a refund.

Join Team Salt Pump on March 28th for our annual USA Climbing Sport Local Competition. Each age group will attempt three routes in a flash format event. Pre-registration is required and will close at the end of the day on Wednesday, March 25th.

Volunteers Needed!

As always, we couldn't pull off this event without the help of a few good volunteers to serve as belayers and judges. If you're interested, please click HERE to sign up.

Volunteers will be provided with plenty of snacks, beverages, and a SaltPump Thank You gift bag (inclusive of a free-day pass for another day and other goodies).

Schedule of the Day

  • 8:00am – Doors open
  • 8:15am – Judges/Belayers Meeting in Volunteer Room
  • 8:45am – Competitors Meeting
  • 9am – First Climbers Begin!
  • There will be a 20-30min break mid morning for category transitions
  • Climbing will continue until all categories have finished (approx 1p-2p)
  • Awards will be shortly after the competition ends

Flash Format

  • There will be access to Beta Videos HERE
  • Competitors will climb three routes in a specified order
  • Running Order will be posted HERE
  • FLASH – Climber’s have ONE attempt at each route and will be lowered when they fall
  • Climbing Schedule :
    • 1 min transition – climber goes to route #1 5 min before their noted climb time
    • 4 min rest (in chair below route #1)
    • 1 min transition (climber ties in for route #1)
    • 4 min climb
    • 1 min transition (climber untie and go to next route)
    • 4 min rest (in chair below route #2)
    • 1 min transition (climber ties in for route #2)
    • 4 min climb
    • 1 min transition (climber untie and go to next route)
    • 4 min rest (in chair below route #3)
    • 1 min transition (climber ties in for route #3)
    • 4 min climb
    • 1 min transition (climber unties and is done!)

Parking

Parking is available in the Salt Pump parking lot, the dirt lot immediately outside our parking area, and along Haigis Parkway. Please do not block our neighbor's driveway!
