Required Paperwork

Please complete these online forms prior to the first week of programming. All forms are required for participation.

Waiver – Everyone entering our facility must have a waiver completed; this includes climbers, spectators, and chaperones. Please fill out a waiver for yourself and your children. This form is valid until children turn 18 - no need to fill out multiple times. For adults, waivers do not expire.

Medical Form – This form asks important questions about your child’s medications, allergies, insurance, and emergency contacts. This is also a place to mention any other medical or behavioral concerns. Please fill out annually.

Facility Rules – Please review these rules with your child before the first week of programming. We will also review these rules during their program.

SP Kids Code of Conduct – Please review this with your child so everyone understands our expectations. We will also review this on the first day of programming.

Billing

After-School Program participants will need to enroll in each quarter individually. Quarter lengths may vary, as do the prices for each quarter. The cost of each quarter is determined by the number of classes offered. You will not automatically be enrolled in future quarters.

All balances are due in full  at time of registration. Programming fee is non-refundable.

Participation includes one class per week, rental equipment as well as full membership to the facility during for the quarter currently enrolled.

What to Bring

Food and Snacks.  Due to the current environment, we ask that all snacks are eaten prior to arrival or wait until after class. Please feel free to send your child with a water bottle to stay hydrated!

Clothing and Personal Items for Indoor Climbing. A t-shirt and loose fitting/stretchy pants or shorts to climb in are best. Skirts and dresses aren’t advised, as wearing a harness can become uncomfortable.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Drop-Off.  Class will start promptly at your classes given time (Scramblers at either 3:50p or 5p, Mountaineers & Climbing Club at 4p). We ask that drop-offs are no more than 10 min before class.

Pick-Up. Class will end at your classes given time (Scramblers at either 4:50p or 6p, Mountaineers & Climbing Club at 6p). A prompt pick-up is expected.

We appreciate your assistance in ensuring timely drop-offs and pick-ups for classes. Any pick-up that is more than 5 minutes after the end of class (6 pm) will be charged a late pick-up fee of $5 for every 15 minutes.

Cancellation Policy

Full payment is due at time of booking. The fee is 100 percent nonrefundable. All Salt Pump Youth programming cancellations will be made at the discretion of Salt Pump Climbing; this includes cancellations for any reason including a COVID-related closure. Cancellations of Youth Programming are normally done in line with the health and safety guidelines of the local school districts. No refunds, credits or make-up days will be offered. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].

Inclement Weather Policy

All Salt Pump Youth programming cancellations will be made at the discretion of Salt Pump Climbing. We will take into account many factors, including weather forecasts, local conditions and school district guidance. Please do not assume that programming is automatically cancelled if local in-school instruction has been cancelled. Parents and participants can expect an email no later than four (4) hours before the scheduled programming (ie. by noon for the regularly scheduled 4pm programming). We will send out a day-of email, as well as post to social media, if programming is to be cancelled. In the case of cancellation due to inclement weather, a free-day pass (with rentals) will be given to each participant. No refunds or make-up days will be offered. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].

Behavior Policy

As you can imagine, this is a challenging time to manage behavior that may put the rest of the group at risk. We tend to work with a 3-step protocol that includes working with the climber to better understand why we are asking them to follow certain procedures and how it is for their benefit and the benefit of the group. Our next step is to provide a safe space for them to be able to take a moment of reprieve and then chat with one of our program leaders until they are ready to rejoin the group. We hope that this will be enough for any climber. In the unlikely event that this isn’t enough for them, we will ask parents to come and pick-up the climber and we can try again next week. If this happens on another day, we will follow the same process, as it is hopefully familiar to the climber. If the climber goes home again on this second occasion, we will likely ask the climber to not return to programming and booking fees will be forfeited. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].
