Outdoor Climbing Days
The perfect kids outdoor adventure, our Outdoor Climbing Days are a great fit for any child searching for a fun and exciting challenge. These programs are open to any level climber, though we ask that participants have been to Salt Pump and tried climbing at least a couple of times before committing to the full day program. These days will focus on transitioning indoor climbing skills to outdoor terrain and all the challenges therein.
We will meet at Salt Pump in the morning, gear up, load into the van, and be on our way to a climbing adventure!
These programs are open to climbers ages 10-14 and are most appropriate for beginner to intermediate youth climbers looking to expand their horizons. All gear will be provided, though climbers are encouraged to bring their own.
Youth Outdoor Bouldering Day
Bouldering is one of the most accessible forms of outdoor climbing. We'll load up the van with lots of crash pads and head to Pawtuckaway or Jockey's Cap -- both excellent bouldering areas approximately 90 minutes of Scarborough.
Schedule: Spring dates TBD
Youth Outdoor Top Roping Day
Just an hour and a half drive from the Portland area, the granite crags of the Mount Washington Valley have served as the perfect training ground for generations of New England climbers to learn the subtleties of outdoor climbing. Possible venues include Sundown Ledge, Cathedral Ledge, Whitehorse Ledge, or Jockey Cap.
Schedule: Spring Dates TBD
